Maybe he wanted to put her in a nursing home because she can’t take care of herself any more? Sometimes, it is better for aged parents to have that extra level of care.

my mother would never agree to go to a nursing home. I hope I never confront that situation.

I took care of my dad until he was 91. Then he fell, and broke his hip. He also needed to have diapers because of his incontinence. I was raising my grand kids at this time, and he became impossible to handle. I hated putting him into a nursing home. My dad wanted me to kill him, and he was miserable for the rest of his life. He died when he made it to 92 years old. My dad was a Christian, and wouldn't hurt a fly, I miss him so much.
