I appreciate you giving me that last word. The notion that God put marijuana on the earth for humans to use is ludicrous. When we "use" it it literally fills us with toxins. It "intoxicates" us. There is zero indication in the bible that marijuana is to be used by man to get high. In fact it is just the OPPOSITE:
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Notice that these are all fleshly lusts. Things that we do to satisfy fleshly desires. That word in red, sorcery, is really:
pharmakeia
far-mak-i'-ah
From G5332; medication (pharmacy), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): - sorcery, witchcraft.
In the context it's being used it means using drugs like marijuana to get high. It's usage is based on the fact that "witches" and wizards would either smoke or ingest drugs like pot in order to get "visions"...or they would dose their unsuspecting victims to give them "visions".
God said "That's not right. Those who follow me DO NOT HAVE TO GET HIGH. Getting high TRAPS you in a fleshly non-spiritual existence. All the so called God fearing "Christians" who smoke dope are really being led down a false path. Repentance is in order.
The bottom line is that God did not intend ALL plants or animals to be ingested by humans. That's just a silly notion. There are plants that poison us whose effect accumulate over time, like pot, and there are plants that kill us outright...like nightshade or certain species of mushrooms. God didn't intend that we "dose" ourselves with that in order to experience a false and momentary "high".
Well I tried to honor my word, but I need to get some work done this afternoon and keep thinking about your strawman argument up on your soapbox... so I have to get this out so I can work.
Still not answered anything I have asked, I can tell you your lack of response about alcohol make me envision you sitting there with your scotch/rocks making all these judgements, but probably only because I know a guy exactly like that, That said, I actually agree with part of what you are saying, the part about looking for a high... People drink for that reason and also do about a 1000 other legal drugs but why is Marijuana the one thing that can not be managed responsibly?
What you are obviously ignorant about is the actual effects. Somebody that uses it regularly does not even get high. I quit smoking it because of that reason and the fact I did not have money to buy it when work dried up. Thing is, about a month later, I could not even bend over and put my socks on or tie my shoes. It could have been because all of a sudden I was working 80 hours a week doing physical labor to make a living instead of sitting behind a desk drawing and I had not used some of the muscles in 30 years, but somebody had me try (50 state legal) CBD oil and within a week I could again. I know personal stories don’t mean anything to you, but maybe somebody else reading this will understand. After it became legal here I can make a batch of edibles for about 1/10 the price of a bottle of cbd oil and it works the same for me.
One last question I can never seem to get an answer for... Why do YOU think our bodies have cannabinoid receptors if they were not intended to receive cannabinoids?
