It would have been more informative if she shared how she transformed from A to B, but she left that part out.

It would be interesting to know how many Republicans/Conservatives have become so turned-off by Trump that they became Liberals. (John McCain, the staff of National Review and the WaPo/NYT token “conservatives” don’t count because they have always been liberals).

Sounds a bit like Whittaker Chambers.

As Christians, we are all quick to forgive and embrace those who repent. But we still need to question the path they took to get there. Those who are sincere will outline it as this article describes.

Road to Damascus experiences, while not unknown, are the exception and not the rule.

Perhaps the answers are in the four books she wrote that you’d have to buy to find out how she arrived to her enlightened state.

I was thinking the same thing. Kris grabbed my attention but then.... nothing.

When? Why? How? Consequences? - I went to the website and then wondered, clever click bait or did the power go out in the middle of writing the article?

She has been a 1st Amendment lawyer but didn't know/understand the Constitution? ... then you start to wonder about credibility Vs. opportunism. It's popular and gets a lot of attention when you leave the liberal plantation. It can be good for publicity.

So many questions...

It seems that everyone’s basic want to be part of a group is working in our favor. There has to be a hashtag for everyone, a self-designated label.

#walkaway is a good spot for the folks who need a little courage (and encouragement) to declare how they “really” feel.

In order to be cool, to fit in, folks want to belong to something that is bigger than themselves. In some cases, (like this) they need the protection of the group.

There might be a few walkaways but I suspect many of them aren't people who are moving right, it's both parties who are moving left.

Oliver North and the Iran contra scandal woke me up. Anyone else have a conversion story? It’s amazing when you open your eyes.

It sounds like the cover page for her “new” book. Wouldn’t want to spoil the story by giving away too much.

Sometimes all it takes for a rabid anti-American liberal to see the light is time.

With time comes age. With age come maturity. Not in all cases of course. But usually people mature with age. And as the do, they accept common sense Natural Law and the “God Bless America” lifestyle.

One of the most difficult aspects of walking away from liberalism is having to admit that one fell for lies. No one likes being lied to, and most people like to think that they are too smart to fall for lies.

Becoming conservative is a voyage, a process that occurs in tiny increments.

My only criticism of this woman’s article is that she seems to equate distancing oneself from science and the scientific method as part of the process of rejecting liberalism. There is no need to reject science which, at its basis, is the attempt to describe and characterize the physical world as accurately as possible. Yes, abortion kills human beings. Yes, vaccines are the most significant medical advance in history. Yes, humans have been genetically engineering foods since prehistory without ill effect. Etc. Science, properly practiced, is not a political philosophy, despite the efforts of some on the left and right to make it one.
