Shapiro: Trump Impeachment 'Should Be On The Table' If Mueller Investigation Quashed

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro said Friday that impeachment "should be on the table" if President Trump or one of his appointees ends special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference prematurely.

Shapiro, the founder and co-editor of The Daily Wire, appeared on HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher," where he said he doesn't believe Trump colluded with Russia in the 2016 election. Shapiro said he's waiting to see evidence suggest otherwise.

Same here. I was willing to give the NeverTrumpers about a 3 month grace period after the election to be won over. But here we are 18 months later, and Donald Trump has done so much that was on every conservative's agenda, from ANWR to TPP to tax cut to Paris Accords to judges to Israeli embassy to dealing with the UN and NATO to North Korea... how can any conservative still dislike him?

Moreover, if he has any awareness of how us Normals feel, he knows WE LOVE TRUMP! So how can he advocate to take away a President we love? I feel like a five year old with a beloved teddy bear that someone is trying to pull out of my hands. I feel active hostility now. I've watched Ben Shapiro's career for years, since he was still a teenage boy wonder writing for Townhall, and applauded him. I went to see him when he spoke in Beverly Hills a few years ago. But now? I'm so disappointed in him. What can be motivating him but personal animus?

In fairness to Shapiro he went on the Maher show and defended Trump from the notion that he is the root cause of the erosion of civility in politics today.

Also, while saying that Trump firing Mueller would cross a line for him, Shapiro said that he’d be ok with Trump firing Rosenstein and/or Sessions.

Shapiro has never claimed to be a fan of Trump. Yet, deep inside enemy territory, he is willing to defend Trump policy in this interview. He might even have given pause to an idiot or two in the audience. From a "never Trump" guy, this was not all bad. Maybe Shapiro is coming around.

Anyone can see that NeverTrumpers are chronically sick, afflicted with a deep seated animus toward the President. It pervades their every statement. They gratuitously spout out thoughts that reveal they can't wait for Trump to fail so they can claim they were right all along. In other words, the impeachment would no longer be over evidence discovered of collusion; it would be the mere curtailment of an unconstitutional rogue investigation that never uncovered any evidence.

If he doesn't have 100% after a year he's grossly incompetent or trying to damn Trump with no actual outcome but dragging this along.
