Which side controls the Supreme Court determines if there will be a Civil War. It was VERY EASY to see it coming under Hillary, almost certain in my book.

1) She would have ‘passed’ gun confiscation by edict.
2) The Republicans would have gone to her 5-4 Supreme Court (with Loretta Lynch on the bench, rather than Gorsuch) saying it’s both unconstitutional and certainly would require an act of Congress.
3) The Supreme Court would have said that this is a battle between Congress and the White House, so they wouldn’t get involved, as to the Second Amendment, that only applies to the National Guard. So if Congress doesn’t like it, they can pass a law to stop her.*
4) With Hillary as president, Congress would need a 2/3’s vote to override any of her edicts, even with the level of anger over what’s she’s doing, Congress will never get to that level of Republicans, so her edict stands.
5) Certain states, like Texas, say flat-out that they’re not complying
6) Hillary says fine, we’ll get your guns ourselves
7) Those ‘rouge’ states then order ALL federal workers off of their land (including the military), and set up their own militias.
8) The games begin.

*Don’t laugh, #3 (above) has already been used by the 4 Leftist judges in at least one of their rulings.

She knew enough to not call for outright confiscation when she ran, but a Parkland or two would have given her the ‘justification’ she needed, and there will always be Parklands.

As to how the fight goes, God only knows.

For people who wonder why I am still LIVID at NeverTrumpers, read 1-8 again and ask whether driving our country into that scenario is fair to our kids and grandchildren, just because Trump is a ‘baffoon’?

I really enjoyed this article at The American Spectator: The Collapse of the Never-Trump Conservatives, by Emerald Robinson.

In fact, the magazine seems to be rejuvenated, as if perhaps they looked around and said: "we're the last conservative hard-copy magazine standing!

I'm sure most of us will never forget this astounding piece of treachery:

The truth is though, that the National Review has been a false guide for many, many years now. The realization of that has slowly grown. In fact that Alt-Right published an entire book on the destructiveness of William F. Buckley's endless purges of the right of everyone he disagreed with.

In the end the old Paleo-Con critics of the Neo-Cons had it pretty much right, they were a bunch of ex-Trotskyites who never left behind a lot of the far-left opinions. Bill's daddy's book might still be the best summary of their opinions:
