I couldn’t agree more. But the problem for politicians who tried to implement your very sensible suggestions would make the current separating children at the border brouhaha look mild. The entire country would be stirred into a boil by the liberals and the media. It doesn’t matter that these things are good, they can be made to look bad. (Somebody recently said, “If Trump walked on water the press would say he did it because he doesn’t know how to swim.) However, a pareto chart of policy effectiveness would probably say that stopping money leaving the country without some record that it was legitimate and taxed would probably stop 60% of the illegals. Also, people sending money that could be seized should be arrested until they can prove they are here legitimately. The other items on your list could be accomplished slowly and over time, but not all at once and not when there’s an election coming up anytime soon. (By the way, if you run for office, I’ll support you.)

The Left would howl and gnash their teeth, that’s for sure. But they’re going to do that anyway. Might as well go for the whole enchilada. Even if we only get half we will be much better off. We can come back for the other half later.

Been there, done that but at a very, very local level. It was years ago. And I am quite sure I’d never pass the background check. LOL.
