I don't know the accuracy of the claim, but I saw one comment posted on here this morning that Cruz was claiming to have gotten Lee on Trump's SC list, as a condition of Trump getting Cruz's endorsement in 2016.

A political trade-off.

Trump was placating conservatives at the time and added Lee as an afterthought. Lee was NEVER going to be a pick, NEVER!!!!
