I think the author is half right.

No we should not be weak or defensive.

But we can be strong, forceful, not defensive and still do it in a civil manner that cuts their defense because we are not the flaming mad-men they are. If we do it rigt, the public will get it. We are not weak and defensive, but we are not like the Left.
