I wish it were private sector as well. I wonder if this will really have much impact.
In terms of members, the public unions have as many members as private sector unions. In fact, the public sector unions have been growing while the private sector unions have been shrinking.
It will have impact. Taxpayers pay the public employees wages and lavish benefits. The PEUs elect democrats, who give them everything they want in return, and raise taxes to pay for it.
Private labor unions actually have to at least be somewhat reasonable in their demands, as they work for a business that has to make a profit with willing customers.
