All politics is local. New York City is squeezing out the middle class and working class with rapid abandon. Crowley doesn't live in the district and sends his kids to schools in Washington D.C. His constituents can't afford to live there anymore. You could say this about almost every liberal Democrat presently in congress.
Ocasio-Cotez won't change anything in her district with her calls for more socialism and open borders. She does a good job identifying the problem (much like Bernie Sanders) she is just not competent to solve the problem. Medicaid for all, rent control open borders and free college education will only drive up costs and choke off business expansion. She would just be another Bernie Sanders, no meaningful legislation and fantasy dream speeches. Crowley lost touch with his district and didn't understand their angst. In walks a young socialist who is listening to the districts and knows their issues.

True but the media will keep a spotlight on her every move. They will make her into a national political figure.
