The Washington Post editorial board defended White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday after she was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant.
The never-at-rest social media has blurred the lined of public and private life, the newspapers board wrote.
It wasnt the first time recently that strong political feelings have spilled into what used to be considered the private sphere, the editorial board wrote. We understand the strength of the feelings, but we dont think the spilling is a healthy development.
Earlier this week, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsens dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Washington, D.C., was interrupted by protesters.
The same thing happened days later to Trumps top immigration adviser, Stephen Miller, who was called a fascist while dining at another Mexican restaurant.
We nonetheless would argue that Ms. Huckabee, and Ms. Nielsen and Mr. Miller, too, should be allowed to eat dinner in peace, the editorial board wrote.
The editorial came the day after Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called on her supporters to continue confronting Trump officials in public.

Gee, how big of them. /s
Considering the source, I don’t believe them.
Kinda late for that.
This is all backfiring so the ComPost is getting out in front before it hits the new news cycle.
This is like the anarchist who handed cases of Molotov cocktails to a rabid mob telling that mob not to burn down buildings with those bottles. Too late, fools. You fanned these flames a long time ago.
I wouldn’t trust a meal from the Red Hen, would you?
If I was a well known Conservative, I would not eat anywhere but home or in a cafeteria.
Maybe a place where I totally trust the employees.
Translation: Time to stop it before we get our a**es kicked or worse.
Gosh, it is so nice to have the grand permission and approval from the lofty “ editorial board” to go to a damn restaurant.
.
They have seen the blowback and they’re scared spitless. Fear the Internet.
Dear WaPo Editorial Board,
Thats mighty white of you.
Best,
L
“....I wouldnt trust a meal from the Red Hen, would you?...”
Nope. I have a feeling that the Red Hen will soon become the Dead Hen....and rightly so.
Remember when they screamed about the two queers that traveled 50 miles out of their way to demand a Christian bake them a ‘wedding’ cake? Back then, not serving people was a cause for loss of money, business, or freedom. Now? Free speech.
Circulating on the net that ALLEGEDLY a ‘silent partner’ in the Red Hen is a convicted child molester. Someone claiming to be a former employee posted that but could have been just lying trolls.
Red Hen. Sounds like a female Russian sniper.
this is what we used to say is “mighty white of them”.
Ya know what though?
If it is true, then it goes to show the dissension in the ranks.
If the left is pushing so hard that they are alienating other leftists, then that’s a good thing in my book.
It’ll drastically reduce their numbers comes the time when push comes to shove.
OTOH, if it isn’t true, then it’s damage control and they realize that they’ve gone too far and were not expecting the blowback they got.
GMTA, #16 lol
Main Street Lexington 540-319-4181. They would like to hear your views on bigotry.
The executive director is the red hen.
Bread and Circuses. Literally.
The ignoble minds of progressives go unchecked in their zeal for chaos and national dissent. The blowback they may discover is real and the Post knows it. The editorial board likes to travel, reside, dine, and socialize freely. Progressives need permission lists.
