The Washington Post editorial board defended White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday after she was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant.
The never-at-rest social media has blurred the lined of public and private life, the newspapers board wrote.
It wasnt the first time recently that strong political feelings have spilled into what used to be considered the private sphere, the editorial board wrote. We understand the strength of the feelings, but we dont think the spilling is a healthy development.
Earlier this week, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsens dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Washington, D.C., was interrupted by protesters.
The same thing happened days later to Trumps top immigration adviser, Stephen Miller, who was called a fascist while dining at another Mexican restaurant.
We nonetheless would argue that Ms. Huckabee, and Ms. Nielsen and Mr. Miller, too, should be allowed to eat dinner in peace, the editorial board wrote.
The editorial came the day after Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called on her supporters to continue confronting Trump officials in public.

Trump never claimed to be a saint and to be honest, its always been obvious he isn’t one. I don’t care either way. I am not talking about those antics anyway.
I’m talking about his colorful rhetoric, his nicknames for his rivals, his strong stands in uncomfortable situations. He’s redefining politics and at times I’ve been a little shocked. But, he obviously knows what he’s doing.
One thing is for certain, Trump has now become the most consequential world leader of the 21st century. He’s a President in the classic sense: He has political power and uses it without shame and without apologies to better the American people. We haven’t had a president with this kind of guts since Reagan. I’m not sure what I’m watching but I know it’s important history in the making.
We shall see.....
This is kind of why they can’t get him on sex scandals or bad words, or so-called rude tweets or comments about his opponents or using harsh terms about illegals.
He’s been doing this since he’s been in the public eye, and didn’t change for the campaign or after the nomination, and people still voted for him. Three states that haven’t went red in decades.
IDK
We got what we wanted and they (leftist kooks) don’t know what to do about it.
It’s also another reason the “Trump is corrupt and colluded with Russia” doesn’t work. Sure it’s a concocted lie, but even so, is it believable that a man who has been under the spotlight/microscope of the NYC media and eventually the national media for 40 years doing business yet he’s never been arrested or brought up on ethic charges, no Martha Stewart or Enron in his past. Sure people can sue him, and they have, for any reason, and people lose businesses when they own a lot of business as he has went bankrupt on a few hotels.
However, in all this time Trump was never seen as corrupt, or racist by the public.
Now all of a sudden he beats Hillary and he’s a corrupt election stealing Nazi?
Nobody buys it.
