Back when even most Dems were anti-Commie, there were several different names for the sorts of people who weren't full on, card carrying, STINKING COMMIES; to whit: PINKO, FELLOW TRAVELER, COMMIE SYPM. And THAT is what I meant. "DEM" or "LIBERAL", though applicable, don't carry the same kind of weight as the above appellations did.
