Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said Thursday that lawmakers will issue subpoenas in days to compel individuals to testify over their involvement in the Department of Justices investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
What were continuing to find is additional information from DOJ and FBI that has literally been hidden from Congress oversight role for nine months, Meadows said on HillTVs Rising.
So were at the point where the frustration has reached a level that weve got to deal with it, he continued. Issuing subpoenas to compel people to come in and testify some of them who really I think want to testify, want to make sure that we clean this up will be actually forthcoming in days where well get them to come in."
Meadows, who leads the House Freedom Caucus, has been among the most vocal lawmakers in his criticism of the Justice Department and its handling of the Russia probe. He and other conservatives have eagerly pursued access to DOJ documents.
The conservative lawmakers have received thousands of documents from the agency, they say they have not been able to review key documents nor have they received as many documents as they've requested, leading to a rising tensions between Republicans and federal officials.
Meadows and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) introduced a legislative measure last week seeking to compel the DOJ to comply with outstanding congressional subpoenas related to the FBI's decision-making during the 2016 election.
Meadows and other conservatives have been rebuffed by the DOJ in their document requests this year, leading to rising tensions between lawmakers and federal officials.

President Trump’s rally last night was HUGE and the people are fired up. Every member of Congress better take note. In other words, anyone in Congress whose not on the Trump Train, is fair game when the President has a rally. All President Trump has to do is tell his supporters, which is growing constantly, who he wants them to vote for and who he wants sent packing.
The hacks in Congress would be wise to support the President or start ordering their packing boxes now. Bye Bye political hacks and bottom feeders the free ride on the US taxpayers is over.
Probably all come in and plead the fifth. Then CONgress will wash their hands & end it. Nobody gets jail time &* we all say the pledge ......”with liberty & justice for all”.
Summer recess coming. Why Trump doesn’t unclassify the reports has to be intriguing. Would like to see him fire Sessions, Rosenstein and any and all FBI agents who sandbagged him and cleared Hillary. His appointment of Wray as FBI chief has been lousy. For the most part he has made some lousy picks for his cabinet.

Yeah, that’s why Ryan’s protege McCarthy was there. He wants to make it look like he’s on the Trump Train, but he’s running on Ryan’s Rails.
I agree.
But unfortunately I read that to mean something that is not good for the rest of us. It bespeaks resignation in attempts to defeat the entrenched GOPe in leadership and elsewhere in the Congress.
Rep. Meadows is only one of a few (and I mean a few) good guys left in the House.
Why Trump doesnt unclassify the reports has to be intriguing.

Agree. I don’t understand his reluctance to do this, or his not firing obvious members of the anti-Trump cabal who are still in the executive branch. Curious indeed.
“President Trumps rally last night was HUGE and the people are fired up”
It was great! If he can keep it up till the mid-terms, he can get more help, and give the democRATS a severe blow.
I feel kinda like this quote attributed to R.E. Lee in March 1865:
“I have been up to see the Congress and they do not seem to be able to do anything except to eat peanuts and chew tobacco, while my army is starving.”
Starving for effective leadership.
Ryno wants Trump to fail and for the Pubbies to lose the House so he can run for Prez as an independent in 2020. Only question is, will it be Kasich or Little Marco on the ticket with him.
God help us if that POS McCarthy becomes Speaker.
We elected one doerPresident Trump.
He comes from business, where absolutely nothing matters except results. Not intentions, not process, not ideology, not excuses. Only results count.
So what? I say again, "SO WHAT?"
When Congress starts enforcing its previous contempt
of Congress citations against Obama Admin. officials
I'll take the Congress seriously. Congress you deserve contempt.
There are an infinite number of things that could happen any day now, suggesting this is just another thing not worth thinking about.
“Fact is, if 45 dumped everything he had in the media, nobody would print it or broadcast it.”
Where did you come up with this “fact?”
1. Bull$hit. They would report it, worldwide!!! It would be on Drudge for months. Even CNN would be forced to cover it. They can ignore the drip-drip, but not one giant MOAB.
2. Ripping off a bandaid is the way to go.
3. Remember when Trump first reported being “wiretapped?” If he had proof in hand, and released it, the worldwide KABOOM!!!! would have destroyed the democrat party for a generation.
4. Q is a disinformation campaign, and his followers are (being nice here) duped.
5. There IS NO “PLAN.”
6. Sessions and Rosenstsin desperately need to be fired.
They’ve been caging kids for years at the border. There’s a court order mandating kids and adults be separated and housed.
Do you see ANY of that reported, ANYWHERE except Drudge?
Meadows, Nunes, Goodlatte, DeSantis, Jordan, etc. are fighting an uphill battle, and doing a GREAT job keeping on target, in the face of heavy fire.
Including some “friendly” fire from several a$$holes right here on fr.
Right on this thread.
Why don’t they call the offices of the above mentioned Patriots and offer words of encouragement, instead of bitching like little girls? Or sitting on their thumbs in the Qook safe space saying, “Trust The Plan?”
Good god.
