If I sell on eBay am I required to collect (and remit) sales tax for each location I sell to?

“If I sell on eBay am I required to collect (and remit) sales tax for each location I sell to?”

Not likely.

Amazon FBA already collects taxes without any work from the seller, so it is likely that they will just set up a system that will look at the shipping address and tack on the tax to the final price, and then Ebay will just pass it on to the appropriate state.

That is what is unclear in the ruling-—

Collect on the location of the seller?

OR-—Collect on the location of the buyer?

IF it is the location of the BUYER-—you will have to know the county the buyer is in, and you will face the possibility of filling out sales tax returns in 49 states. I think there are some states without sales taxes—Oregon—but I don’t know if there are more.
