In the history of civilization....has any civilization/nation gone to war against itself, civil war, to rid itself of slavery?
Was there slavery? Yes! Was it eliminated? Yes! Was there prejudice? Yes! Was it eliminated? No!
All tones of skin are guilty of it.
Christ hasn’t returned.
This never was a perfect nation....a Republic....not a democracy.
Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
Can we keep it? Despite Franklin’s moral flaws....however....he was wise enough to have perceived....
“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters. ”
Socialism, right or left, fascism or communism, both are Godless, however, they do love their gods....eerrrrr, those with humongous egos.
“Can we keep it?”
Nope.
The experiment has failed. Now, we wait for our Sulla or Cromwell, our Franco or our Lenin.
