I thought white people were evil. I was wrong. Whenever anyone mentions the historical atrocity of chattel slavery, white people will emerge from the dark crevices of humanity to gnaw away at the assertion like roaches on a discarded Cheeto. They will explain how most white people didn’t own slaves. They will offer a convoluted explanation about the Confederacy and Southern heritage. They will introduce the concept of “presentism”—the idea that we shouldn’t judge the actions of people in the past using modern-day standards—as if the white people of the past couldn’t quite grasp the idea of inhumanity and brutality until 1861.
Everyone knew that slavery was evil. Everyone knew that Jim Crow was evil. Everyone knew that lynching was evil. Everyone knows that any kind of injustice or inequality is evil. These things persist because most white people don’t actively fight to eradicate them.
And most white people don’t actively fight to eradicate inequality and injustice because they usually benefit in some small way. The Southern economy was built on evil slavery. Jim Crow laws maintained a national order with white people firmly planted atop the social hierarchy. Systematic injustice keeps black people in their place, but it also comforts white people to know that the big black bogeymen are being kept behind bars...

Actually, it isn’t my job to care on the terms many folks seem to offer.
The slaves and freedmen are all dead and their claims died with them.
The slave owners are all dead and whatever guilt they may have had was interred with their bones.
Suffering is always and only personal, it is not communicable.
Likewise responsibility is not communicable.
I do NOT care about the suffering of entities, mere abstractions of persons.
I could go on given specifics to respond to but in a nutshell it is this: I’m just not interested in your drama, I just don’t owe you a thing. To the extent I find any interest it is to oppose such claims.
If you’re a SJW I’m at the point that whatever you want I’ll do the opposite. You want to take down a statue? I’ll suggest putting two more up. You want to rename something? Revert the names of two things renamed.
It’s good when SJWs are offended. I sometimes think they can’t be properly happy unless they think they’ve got reason to be miserable at some level so it’s a service to offend one.

It isn’t right to claim that black people are cowardly and evil and it isn’t right to claim the same thing about white people. Racism will never EVER end as long as people keep stuffing one another into demographic pigeonholes. Identity politics is only good for promoting institutionalized intolerance.

If it weren’t for a relative few habitual criminals many places in the US would be much nicer to live in. It’s ironic that the selfsame habitual criminals have convinced too many of their victims that they’re victims of the cops who are there to protect the innocent.
