Not sure where I heard this but supposedly there is money from the Omnibus for more immigration judges, for this purpose. But they’re not hired yet or something like that.
That would be ideal solution w/out EO. Arrest them as a family, go straight to a judge & promptly deported.

Hopefully he will find a way to do something like that. The optics of this are horrible, everyone knows it. Enforce the law without separating the kids and then turn it back to Congress for a better law.

The focus needs to be on our broken immigration law not on hot-button emotional issues.

Let's say Trump makes a change to allow some of the children to stay with their parents. If they simply accept every family who says the magic word "refugee," this could add an extra step to the process, and it will be Saul Alinsky's wet dream as then number of applicants quickly overwhelm the system. It could work if they have ever longer lines waiting to enter the entry ports, supposing some of the "refugees" give up go home. But at the same time, there will be people who encourage them to stay in line.

While all this is going on, they would need more judges and staff.
