I really really like option #1. It is working.
Well legally they can jail the kids with their parents for 20 days... so you will need to hire a bunch of immigration judges and push them through the pipeline fast... or release... so yes its a no win here...
This is the most manufactured crisis there has been.
DON’T LIKE THE LAW TELL THEM TO CHANGE THE LAW! This isn’t an executive problem its a legislative problem!
Hopefully he will find a way to do something like that. The optics of this are horrible, everyone knows it. Enforce the law without separating the kids and then turn it back to Congress for a better law.
The focus needs to be on our broken immigration law not on hot-button emotional issues.
Yep but Trump's wife and daughter don't and they count more than you do.
It should be stipulated that the “families” and their “children” need to undergo DNA tests to prove that they are actually related. I would expect to see a huge dust cloud if that happens.
Yes! There's no question the policy is working.
If the new law gives them citizenship that will end the crisis....come over with kids and you all get citizenship.
Yes. Trump will have a new boss.
Dragging them from Central America through Mexico is not trauma. But being in a different cell than their alleged mother and father? That’s trauma. Right.
What’s wrong with Mexico anyway? They already speak the language.
I think a better question is where are you?
“forced congress to do his job”
Um, those are YOUR reps and senators.
Amazingly 99% of the people that spend the most time bitching and moaning never once actually confronts the people they sent to DC. But TRrl enjoy sitting on our ass.
And no, some form-letter email isnt the same thing.
Less drama and more patience...see what plays out. Could be that Trump knows if he “caves” and writes and EO, some screwball will sue the administration for circumventing the court order that forces the separation and then the court will rule AGAIN that the law must be followed and then he can really rip Congress.
Congress has been broken for close to 2 decades now... and every time something comes up that proves it... one side or the other blames the executive and they never have to face the consequences.
Never say Never!
When I signed up for Trump I knew I was signing up for his old friends and his family. There’s never been any doubt about that for years. But Trump is wrong to give in on this, legally, morally, and politically. Just wrong.
“Just gonna stop caring. Have fun yall”
Great!
Sign off and go head out while the rest of us do the heavy-lifting so you can slink back in a few weeks later and act like you never posted that.
Conservatism attracts too many do-nothings that talk big and then run off at the first stiff breeze.
Like why dont the Democrats have people this damn fickle?
And when have we not seen this ginned up outrage since Nov 6, 2016?
IF he actually does it, I PRAY that the doc he signs will be chock full of WHEREAS clauses, each WHEREAS going into great detail of when this started, under whose presidencies it continued, the dates of the photos being published, Hillarys statement at the 2014 CNN Townhall saying children should be separated, that now law is being enforced and nothing more, etc.
If the document will be out there for all to see and read, any signature block should be preceded by information.
Unless they are “reunited” and immediately sent back to their home countries this will only spur the leftist hate machine on.
I wonder what the hysterical crowd will find to cry, scream and protest over next, now that this issue will diminish. I’m sure we won’t have to wait long to find out...
