Sesame simply normalizes ghetto values and behavior.

I have young kids. I sat with them and watched an episode of SS.

They had a vignette about going to the beach. It was a black family, and to my surprise the parents were covered in nasty ghetto tats, akin to the type you get in jail/prison.

At first I thought “is that the best they could do?”, and then I realized it was all by design: destroy the old, white values, and bring in the urban, nonwhite values.

It has been like this for at least 25 years.

I haven’t watched any episodes since I was a little kid. My mom used to put it on and watch it with me. She learned a lot of her English that way. I suppose it served an educational purpose long ago. The most my kids know about Sesame Street is through memes and a few clips I showed them. I got a kick out of those aliens that would visit Bert and Ernie, so they know about those ;)
