If the parents of these children ask for asylum, then, by a 1997 law, the children are separated from the parents after 20 days; because, BY THAT LAW, U.S. authorities CANNOT hold minors in detention more than 20 days.

Don’t think for a moment that the media a$$holes are unaware of this.

I think that was a consent decree with a judge, rather than a law.

One possible approach, is to give families with children priority for having their asylum denied - put them to the front of the line, with a proven hanging judge, who will put them on the express train to deportation.
