The prescribing dr forgot to prescribe the liquid media to drink before, so it was a dry CT-Scan, and the pseudo-cyst was read as a tumor. The medical center called-in their oncology surgeon, and he ordered another CT w/ media.
It was 2-3 weeks since Pancreatic Cancer (certain death diagnosis) and treatable Pancreatitis. I can’t believe what I went thru preparing myself to die.
He ordered me into York Hospital to the oncology wing, and after they did another CT, I was moved to another floor. I was on IV food/water for 23 days, with antibiotics flowing into a 3-port device the put in my neck.
It bypassed the inflamed pancreas, and let the antibiotics do their job. I lost ~130lbs during that 23 day stay.
Then in July, I went into the Cath Lab and had 5 stents put into my heart, since I was too weak for bypass/open heart surgery.
Now, I’m going in to Penn State Univ/Hershey Med Ctr on 6/28 to get the pseudocyst drained (they can’t remove it), and in 4-6 weeks, will go back into York Hospital to have my gallbladder out.
Many, many thanks for your prayers.
Thank God you don't have cancer. I cannot imagine what you went through during those 2-3 weeks.
My prayers for you will continue, as you've got more surgery/procedures to come.
I had my gallbladder out in 2014 (non-invasive surgery). For me, it was one of my easier surgeries. Hope it's the same for you. :-)
