Exactly. Adults, especially parents, used to mostly keep their children out of the adult loop so they could grow up without having to understand all details and desires of being an adult. But today they've turned children into 'adults' way too early. I'm glad my parents were my parents. Most of the kids I knew had similar parents.
My parents were that kind of parents, too.
