The lieutenant ran in front of the Jeep and shouted, “Get out,” according to a police report. When Macklin began pulling away, the lieutenant drew his gun and fired through the open driver’s side window, hitting the teen in the chest.

The lieutenant had a concealed carry license.

One aspect of this story that has not been discussed is that fact that the Fire Lieutenant had a CCW in Chicago Illinois.

My understanding is that is like having a pet unicorn.

So this government employee of fairly high rank is able to get a CCW but the plumber next door to him hasn’t a chance of getting one.

If Joe the plumber neighbor of the fire lieutenant is car jacked he better duck behind a tree and call his insurance agent.

I’ve known men who were fire fighters in Chicago. Their stories of what can happen when responding make it very understandable why a CCW would be issued. Not that it is fair that others have a most difficult time.
