Smith Act, 1940, passed by the U.S. Congress as the Alien Registration Act of 1940. The act, which made it an offense to advocate or belong to a group that advocated the violent overthrow of the government, was the basis of later prosecutions of members of the Communist and Socialist Workers parties.

The Smith Act, presumably still in force has been ignored for 10 years.
Why? one tends to wonder.

I just realized something noteworthy...
Fifteen years ago, many of us still here in FR got routinely suspended or banned for posting frustrated opinions that are now the contents of 95% of current posts.

This is a significant source of satisfaction and pride for me to realize that we were many years ahead of the inevitable totally justified curve.

If it were enforced, a great many members of the Uniparty would be in prison.
