McCain and Romney were both Designated Losers.
Both of those elections were elaborate plays with the outcome predetermined.
They wanted Precedent Obama. (sp intentional)
They wanted the protections of the natural born citizen requirement gutted.
Both parties have a stable full of ineligible candidates.

A few years ago I would have balked at your comment. Now, I believe you are very likely correct. I’ve been with White House people, Senators, industry ‘captains’, and a variety of ‘connected people’ (who weren’t by any stretch all that impressive), and when I spoke to them about their responsibility to ‘the tax payers’, they shot each other looks, as though I was pathetically disconnected.
There is most definitely a swamp, and it’s been expanding for decades. I reached the point at which I started getting depressed by the realization that most of us are just pawns in a game played by political wannabes of limited ability. I believe, sincerely, that there was a time in our national history during which ambition, dreams, hard work, dedication, and sweat could lead you to a better horizon, and to fulfillment of aspirations and dreams. I believe, sincerely, that America was once the land of opportunity. I also sincerely believe that career politicians, and those ‘hangers on’ who ‘travel’ with them, have done extensively deep damage to our national spirit and identity, and are a cancer threatening the survival of our free nation.

Throw in Dole. The fix has been in for a long time. Trump is the anomaly that was unexpected.
