As far as I can tell, all anybody signed was a memorandum of understanding. I don't see anything that's binding, nor anything that irreversible.
As far as Trump letting Kim be seen as an equal, if that's what it takes to open Kim's mind to the possibilities of bringing the advanced world to North Korea, then so what? If Kim decides to join the rest of the world population, he won't be able to keep his torture chambers anymore, so that's a good thing, right?
Developing North Korea will open up a lot of business in the emerging markets which are starting to slide right now. If the emerging markets fall, the developed markets will shortly follow. Opening up North Korea for development may be the black swan change that the equity markets need right now.

That will help Kim back home to persuade his Generals that they are no longer considered inferior and that they should sign on to becoming a participating country of the world economic community.
Best for the people of DPRK and less threat of NoKo being destroyed. Kim was educated in Swiss schools and better understands world views than others in his country who have been fed Communist BS all of their lives.
