Gays are 10% of the population, right? We were told that for decades.
There were 17,250 murders in the US last year. 10% of that is 1,720.
1% of that is 172.5
The murder rate among gays is less than 1%.
I have never seen greater than 2%, and that was not broken down into male and female homo percentage of that < 2%.
Gays are about 1.8% of the population according to the most extensive study of the subject of which I am aware.
I don't know if the 52 or 28 numbers are correct or not, but it may be worth noting that most of those murders happened in high crime areas or among populations with high crime rates.
Where people are already more likely to be killed, violence against gays for being gay doesn't stand out as much as it does in other parts of the country.
