Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein threatened to subpoena emails, phone records and other documents from lawmakers and staff on a Republican-led House committee during a tense meeting earlier this year, according to emails reviewed by Fox News documenting the encounter and reflecting what aides described as a "personal attack."
The emails memorialized a January 2018 closed-door meeting involving senior FBI and Justice Department officials as well as members of the House Intelligence Committee. The account claimed Rosenstein threatened to turn the tables on the committee's inquiries regarding the Russia probe.
The DAG [Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein] criticized the Committee for sending our requests in writing and was further critical of the Committees request to have DOJ/FBI do the same when responding, the committee's then-senior counsel for counterterrorism Kash Patel wrote to the House Office of General Counsel. Going so far as to say that if the Committee likes being litigators, then we [DOJ] too [are] litigators, and we will subpoena your records and your emails, referring to HPSCI [House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence] and Congress overall.

Rod Rosenstein might want to read up on what happened when (the leftovers of) a divine monarch and his minions decided to engage parliment in a bloody civil war.
Rosenstein has quite the ego. I wonder what would happen if Trump ORDERED him to comply with the Congressional committee’s requests. Lawfully and legally he would have NO CHOICE in the matter, but to comply.
Fire him now. Prosecute him for interfering with a congressional investigation, blackmail, extortion, and of course collusion.
how long is PDJT going to let this Mueller/Rosenstein/etc FARCE continue? it is demoralizing the nation....
it is so slimy looking, disgusting ...
That’s an outright act of sedition if there ever was one.
Hence the Trey Gowdy flip.
This crap will stop the day a Whip or Speaker says, Seargent at Arms! Please detain this person until such a time as he or his organization provides the data Congress has subpoenaed, and is therefore no longer in Contempt of Congress.
The longer the farce goes on the better Trump’s re-election chances get. The public knows that this is BS. Trump is content to let them continue stepping in cow patties.
This will give Trump 100% protection from blowback to fire Rosenstein.
On what legal or constitutional basis would Rosenweasel have to do so?
The Great Donaldus Magnus will wait until the time is right, when he knows public opinion will support him, and then drop the Hammer of Thor on these ass-clowns.
Sessions is waiting in the wings with the smirk of the hangman.
Never happen. Congress-critters are spineless pussies, for the most part.
I begin to understand the alternative uses of anti aircraft projectiles used as dispensation of getting exactly what you deserve in some regimes. We could call it the Rosenstein Sidewinder.
I imagine that Rosenstein would defy a direct order from Trump. If Trump then fired him, the next day Paul Ryan would order the House Judiciary Committee to start an investigation into impeachment.
I see a squirming Deep Swamp Eel.
Rosenweasel doesn’t need a constitutional basis just a friendly federal judge.
Rosenstein acting like a cornered rat would act. No surprise there. He’s in this mess up past his eyeballs.
He would not be able to enforce such a subpoena, and he would sign his own “You’re Fired” letter if he did.
By itself, this is grounds for impeachment. At a minimum, the staffers (and Nunes) should formally report it directly to the IG for investigation.
Any Qooks still think Rosensessions is a white hat? Or has that ship officially sailed. Like 90% of Qookland secret decoder disinformation stuff.
This happened over a month ago. Nothing happened to him then no reason to believe anything will happen to him now.
