Actually, NK could become a fantastic world “experiment” to see what kind of growth and increase in better human living conditions could be had WITHOUT the insane “leftist agenda”.
They are invested in a lie. Kim Un was schooled abroad, he’s seen the world outside of North Korea. His peers in North Korea have it in for him, he was born into that life. He faces competion from those who want things to change, from those who want things to stay as they are, and those who simply want his power. And all are willing to use violence to remove him just as he’s apparently willing to use violence against any perceived threat even from his own extended family.

You can only starve them of food and news for so long. And when they do get it, how will they treat the one(s) who denied them of it?
I think Kim is weighing a strategy by which he retains power and is not killed either for transitioning from a Communist dictatorship or for keeping his people down for so long. He doesn’t want to lose face or his head.
