Your comments are spot-on. I'd only add that this is President Donald J. Trump's Berlin Wall moment.

Never in my life did I ever think I'd see the Berlin Wall come down, it did thanks to President Reagan's unabashed courage.

Love him or hate him, President Trump has that same unabashed courage. He expresses it far differently than President Reagan did, yet I see it. It's there. It's CLEARLY there. President Trump has full command of this situation. He's setting the bar for North Korea. Only a fool doesn't see it and only the most bitter partisan hacks want to see him fail.

God help me for this, as I watched CNN it was clear to me that the lying liberal media won't be happy until the missiles are flying between the Nork's, South Korea and the United States. CNN clearly wants President Trump to fail and millions to die IMO.

As for me, I pray for our President and for peace. I believe he can make it happen and I'm thankful we have this President at this moment in time. He has the COURAGE to do what no President in the past 60+ years has tried to do and I pray he's successful.

YES! A great moment for the American people where we can finally hope this issue on the Korean peninsula can be normalized without the nukes. I live in SE Asia one hour different from Singapore so I watched the press conference live on FOX. I don't watch a lot of television but this was looking to be a special moment and it certainly was. As is usual the foreign correspondents asked good questions on topic. The usual suspects not so much. I'm pretty sure it was Acosta who he warned to "be nice and be polite", hehehe. It's a shame that our President at this time and place has to treat the American media in this manner but they deserve the contempt that they get.

About the only thing which really upset me was the libtard FOX reporter in Sing (John Roberts or something like that?)after the Presser who went on and on about the human rights violations in North Korea and what was Trump doing about that? Someone please slap this idiot up side the head and remind him IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NUKES YOU FOOL!! This process is about protecting America first and foremost. Talking fundamental changes about their government and the treatment of their citizens is just one of the many fatal flaws in prior efforts. This negotiation process will surely fail if the dictator feels threatened with the Khadafi solution. We talk to China and they have one of the most repressive regimes in the world. The Korean nukes are a clear and present danger so we must deal with them FIRST through the position of strength which is why the sanctions will remain in place and talk of regime change must not be brought into the discussion.

Job well done on a first meeting Mr President!!

He is owning the room. Never seen him look better.

I wonder if John Harwood still thinks he's mentally ill?

To cement TRUMP's legacy, he should make a deal with Kim Jun Un on releasing all the prisoner's from their gulag

Maybe pay a bounty for every prisoner or some other incentive

TRUMP needs to get this done! His legacy will be secured with that 1 move

>>He has the COURAGE to do what no President in the past 60+ years has tried to do and I pray he’s successful.<<

Because (IMHO) he is beholding to no one. Most people don’t “get it” when it comes to money.

I intend I (and am on track) to retire with $1.5 Million. It has taken me 45 years to do so. I am tapping every resource that God in His wisdom (and I humbly accept) bestowed upon me. Mind you I worked hard for them 45 years.

But God smiled upon me (whoa!! baby sinner!) to provide both means and ability to execute what had to be done. I am pretty dang good at what I do and God keeps smiling on me to think m way out of problems (hey, God speaks to me through FR in incredible inspired posts).

I am humbled. Between you, me and the handful of FReepers (how many could there be? a few thousand?) I suspect our discourse will remain sub-rosa.

Trump already said NO tax payer dollars for NK. Any benefits to NK will be from investment in their economy by international companies.

And if President Trump addressed human rights, the MSM would complain about jobs. And if jobs were included they'd complain about wages and purchasing power. And...

. He then went into getting our troops out of there and how expensive it was to conduct wargames with South Korea.

Will we stop conducting military exercises period, all over the world, as a budgetary matter?

And why did we now adopt the North Korean term for them and call them "war games"? Prior to this we always called them "military exercises".

Maybe pay a bounty for every prisoner or some other incentive

How do you do that and retain the economic sanctions on North Korea?

Thank you for this well-said statement. It will help me in talking to any one who tries to downplay the results of this summit.

What? So we can enrich the NORKs and the political prisoners can be re-arrested a week later on another charge, to be sold again?

There are tens of thousands of political prisoners in the PRC and Russia as well. Should the American taxpayer get into the ransom business? I don't think so.

Our President has the eye on the ball: de-nuking the regime is what will make America safer. Let the South Koreans and Japanese do their part to industrialize their nation and things will likely move toward a freer life for the citizens of North Korea. But trying to impose our values upon foreign nations is the failed path we have followed over the past decades. I don't believe for a minute that Donald Trump will wander down that garden path.

It's all about America; our safety and prosperity is the goal of our great President.

"My questions are, how old is the hardware, how well and how often is it maintained, how old is the ammunition, how much training do the troops get and, how long would the weapons remain operational once hostilities commenced?"

Operational details and readiness should never be discussed with civilians, or military personnel with no need to know.
