Above is from 5 years ago. From what I understand, Trump wants states to form thrir own high risk insurance pools with assistance from the Feds in the firm of block grants. Works for me.
High risk pools were limited in what they would cover, were horrendously expensive for those forced to turn to them for coverage, and were not offered by all states. And currently there is no plan to fund high-risk pools on the table. There is no Obamacare alternative on the table, though a few weeks ago the President promised one by now. So until there is, and unless that plan offers a viable alternative, this is something the Democrats can use against the Republicans.
Perception is a big part of elections. The perception that the Democrats can spin on this isn't good.
