The $20 million spent for Trump Kim Summit mostly goes back to companies in Singapore and their defense forces. They are not paying people to come there..and they’re paying their own people for labor and services to support the event. The money largely remains in Singapore..

$20 mil in the whole scheme of their government spending is surprisingly cheap. The worry that GST would increase because of this summit is unfounded. Their tax revenue for 2017 was $47 Billion with a surplus of $9 Billion....they can afford $20 mil.

“they (Singapore) can afford $20 mil”

They invested over a billion to upgrade their facilities to host US Naval vessels, when the Philippines closed down Subic Bay. Malaysia has long cast hungry eyes on Singapore’s wealth,. They rely on the US security umbrella for freedom of shipping as well.
