China kills thousands in the Tiananmen Square Massacre with 300,000 troops and get then the United States approves Most Favored Nation status for them within a year. This happened under President Clinton.
Russia annexes Crimea with 30,000 troops with very few deaths. The United States kicks Russia out of the G7 where they remain banned after 4 years. This happened under President Obama.
Iran sends troops to Iraq and Syria after the US completely pulled out by the end of 2011. The United States rewards Iran with pallets of cash. This happened under President Obama.
Cuba has opposed the United States in wars in Africa, The Caribbean, and Central America. President Obama rewarded them with normalized relations.
It seems to me that the liberals should welcome Putin back to the G7 since they always feel comfortable dealing with communists and dictators. There’s only 1 reason to oppose it. They think readmitting Putin to the G7 will help President Trump and they all hate President Trump the most.
Tai_Chung you forget that there is an ongoing war in Donbass where thousands of Russian and Ukrainian fighters (and civilians) have already and continue to die. It is indeed, aptly called “The Forgotten War.”

The G7 “stand up to Russia” act is a sham when in fact it is GERMANY that cemented Europe’s reliance on Russian gas/oil via the NordStream 2 pipeline deal, which Trump and our other allies like Poland did not want.
Nobody is taking Russia to task for the downing of Malaysian Air MH17 over East Ukraine from Amsterdam and killed mostly Dutch and Aussie citizens. A multi-year long inquiry concluded evidence points to Russia.
Where is the mention of the ONGOING war in East Ukraine and the refugee crisis there. It is a war smack dab in the middle of Europe and the Europeans don’t care. The world doesn’t either. Hence it being “the forgotten war.”

Ukraine was a very significant part of the Soviet Union. Aside from their huge agricultural sector, the largest steel mill in the union is in Ukraine. The largest open pit iron mine in Europe is in Ukraine. The Antonio Aircraft Company is there as well as a major tank rebuilding facility. Putin mishandled this one.

I can’t even believe we are still having this argument. The whole failed foreign policy comes from Condolezza Rice’s view that the US does not recognize spheres of influence. Anyone with a map and a bit of sense would recognize that the Black Sea is a Russian lake and by the way, Turkey is not a reliable international partner, not that that should have been a factor in this utterly pointless display of geostrategic lunacy.
Rice can’t take a joke? That’s nothing new. Our President was only giving the Europeans something to chew on for throwing their fit. They don’t know him, yet. That’s a good thing.
It was also starved and ravaged by the Soviet Union and is still recovering from the damage but enough of its people (with God) are determined to see the people through to freedom. Pray for Ukraine.
