$15 billion is simply a PR campaign. In terms of substantive cutting of the budget, which is desperately needed, its nothing.

This was disingenuous, but politically clever. It allows the same people who voted for massive spending that funded virtually every Democrat priority to go back to their angry constituents and piously claim they voted to cut government spending. And it will work. The voters are generally clueless and naive.

That’s how congress operates; they use tricks like this to enable the reps to vote both ways on every issue. Congress is good at lying and PR campaigns to make themselves look good.
