Bolton playing his “bad cop” role?
The “Libyan model” was working just fine, until the “Arab spring” apostasy, encouraged by the Obama regime, caused the downfall and removal with extreme prejudice of the Libyan dictator.
Not in the action itself, but in subsequent severely punitive follow-up diplomatic moves, did the end to Gaddifi actually come.
Kim Jong Un stands a good chance to both giving up his nuclear ambitions, and retaining power after the fact, so long as no internal coup is mounted against him. Of course, should a coup happen, it may have come whether he gave up nuclear threats or not. But not at the encouragement of the Trump Administration.
More often than not, their agenda is in conflict with us. On this, they might be spot on. Why the heck would Bolton say he wanted to give NK the Libya treatment unless he wanted to undermine the peace process? It does seem very Deep-Statish. And VP Pence? He's real loyal, but he's been less of a President Trump cheerleader lately. Honestly, I don't have a clue where he's at as far as Deep State global warmongering initiatives go. Pompeo does seem to be truly enjoying being part of a peace process.
What's my point? On this situation, CNN might well be spot on. Bolton might be another one of the bad guys reporting to the Deep State. Nothing in his resume refutes that possibility.
Trump is good negotiator. Good cop/bad cop is often used in business as negotiating tactic. For example, your car salesmen supposedly going in back room to argue with boss about the price of your car.
If talking to Kim isn't pointless, then what is the point?

The Libyan “model” by the way, is NOT de-nuclearization (which is not really a term anyway), but is “assassination-by-mob”. Which IS the Obama method: Egypt, Libya, Syria (attempted), Iraq .
Replacement of a stable country (though dictatorial) with ever-stronger, ever-more-militant Islam mob rule and ever-stronger mullahs.

The Left trying to smear Bolton as they always have, for in international affairs he has never been one of them nor feigned “bi-partisanship” with them.
Bolton has always stood out because he has never been conned by “Liberals” into agreeing with what has actually come from the Left.
By the Left I do not mean the historic traditional Liberals as was maybe last only seen with JFK.
Using Johnson and the war in Vietnam as the “cause” the Left cowed, subverted, conned and overcame the “Liberals” among the Democrats, increasingly from the 1960s. Obama was their ultimate Marxist victory dance, over the Democratic Pary.
