To take on the corporate multinational industrial Negro music complex was extremely gutsy or unbelievably naive.

It was a winning issue with most conservative white parents, as well as a large portion of the black community as well. Now Rap has been completely mainstreamed without in the least bit having had to reform its vulgarity. Few blacks care, and conservative whites have been cowed into submission.

Pssst, black performers of the 50s will tell you that juke joint music was banned in their homes as well. It was’n’t a color thing as revisionist historians portray it today.
