House Speaker Paul Ryan said Wednesday he agreed with South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy that the FBI did "exactly" what it was supposed to do in its handling of the investigation into Russian election meddling and possible connections to President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign.

Placing lures on the campaign staff is not acceptable. They are both trying to feather their nest for some future employment. Time they both stfu and go home.
This screams out ‘COMPROMISED’.
Both Gowdy and Ryan leaving Congress and now saying the FBI acted appropriately.
There is NO QUESTION these two have been coerced to do this.
It is obvious they were told to say these things OR ELSE.
Whoever is ordering them to do so wants as much political capital as possible from these two before they leave.
These idiots are either on the wrong side, or don't know how this game is played.

Ryan and Gowdy both saying this is a sure sign that the appropriate Congress Critters committee members were informed of that fact, too, so they have to circle the wagons before the other shoe drops.
Like all bureaucrats, their highest priority is to protect their own fiefdom and expand its power. For Congress, that includes hiding or rationalizing away things done by people now long dead if what they did gave Congress some sort of leverage with the Executive Branch.

Ryan and Gowdy were probably told of possible Trump/Russia meddling and therefore counterintelligence operation as early as late 2015 by the FBI and DOJ and they did nothing and sat on it. This will probably come out and that’s why they are acting this way. Plus they have been compromised. The government knows of their ‘dead girl/live boy’ or vice versa situation

Ryan’s first and only private sector job was as a driver for the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. He had no money.
Then he was elected to Congress that pays $174,000 a year and now he’s worth $12 million.

Well, it is Paul Ryan, after all. Everyone knew, when he replaced Boehner and gave the Democrats even more than Boehner did, he was swamp.
What should be clear to everyone, now, is that the Republican party establishment was and is in on and approved of all of these anti-American conspiracies.
The silver lining in all of this is that many we did not know were swamp have been outed and their cover is blown. They’ll simply move on to lobbying.
Trey Gowdy, is one of the most dubious in that he pretended to hold the swamp’s feet to the fire. At least, Freaky Flake, Liddle Bob Corker, Linda Graham, John McCain, Bubbles Rubio, Collins, Murkowski, Sasse, Burr, Portman, Heller, Cochran, Kennedy, Moran, Isaakson, Alexander, Thune Hatch, Lee, Roberts, Boozman, etc, didn’t hide their swampiness.
Gowdy was deliberately deceptive in placating those voters who had some faith left that the swamp wasn’t the majority. He should be hanged first, if it was up to me.
