DOJ watchdog finds James Comey defied authority as FBI director, sources say

The Justice Department's internal watchdog has concluded that James Comey defied authority at times during his tenure as FBI director, according to sources familiar with a draft report on the matter.

One source told ABC News that the draft report explicitly used the word "insubordinate" to describe Comey's behavior. Another source agreed with that characterization but could not confirm the use of the term.

In the draft report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz also rebuked former Attorney General Loretta Lynch for her handling of the federal investigation into Hillary Clinton's personal email server, the sources said.

On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump complained of "numerous delays" in the release of Horowitz's final report, which is expected to run several hundred pages long and be released in the coming days. The sources who spoke to ABC News were willing or able to address only a portion of the draft report's complete findings.

"What is taking so long with the Inspector General's Report on Crooked Hillary and Slippery James Comey," Trump said on Twitter. "Hope report is not being changed and made weaker!"

There is no indication the president has seen – or will see – a draft of the report before its release. Horowitz, however, could revise the draft report now that current and former officials mentioned in it have offered their responses to the inspector general's conclusions, according to the sources.

I think part of the reason people who post on FR tend to express depressive characteristics is two-fold:

1. I don't believe many FReepers have lived/traveled overseas, or if they have, have any knowledge of regional history or have visited historic battle sites. (Or have actually been caught in the middle of large scale sectarian battle fight like I have.) If they did, they would know how frequently revolutions, civil and national wars have been fought, how quickly events can spiral out of control, and just how tenuous the thin veneer of civilization really is. If you maintain the inductive mindset that what happened yesterday and today shall determine that tomorrow will be similar, then you may be a turkey or a FReeper.

2. A lack of macro-perspective. An easy hypothetical is: will the USA appear the same in 500 years? That is, the same political divide driving arguments over 2A, LGBT, etc that dominate today's news cycles. If not, then (a) when will a break occur; (b) what will be the precipitating cause; and (c) which side will prevail? Once you accept that change will come at some future pont, then why not tomorrow? What's to stop it?

The bottom line is this: the Hussein coup attempt is the most serious threat to our national security since 1776. Neither the Confederacy, Germany (I & II), Japan and/or the USSR had war plans that incorporated command & control over US territory and/or national government. Yet, the Hussein gambit was directed expressly at achieving that objective.

Trump has every right - and support of 50% of the people + military - to declare a state of national emergency due to the clear and present existential threat to state security. Once the game is afoot, then all bets are off. One last thing to consider: if Trump doesn't do it, do you really think the left won't if they get *one more chance*?

I said unless there are more than just Comey fingered in this report (which is who the article is about), it would be a white wash.

But of course I await more details, and the release of the report itself, and not just somebody's leaks--which are done for specific reasons we can only guess at.

Consider my anger aimed at the leaker, and how this leak is not going to exonerate Comey nor let the others go scot-free.
