Tyranny exists in the eye of the beholder. One person’s definition of “tyrant” may include just about all the same words as another person’s definition of “savior of the nation”.
No mention is made of the parallels with the Presidency of Abraham Lincoln, greatly vilified by the portion of the nation that would not recognize his legitimate claim to the seat of Commander in Chief.
Regardless - rescinding an intimation to a team that had publicly assailed and sneered at that invitation isn’t tyranny!
