The Boy Scout organization fought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court - and won - the undisputed right to set their own membership standards.
In less than a decade they squandered their victory and their right to claim they taught young men to be brave, clean, and reverent.
In hindsight their downfall was recruiting national business leaders onto their board in hopes of attracting huge donations.
They got deadly poison instead.
The Scouts should disband right now in an attempt to leave millions of erstwhile scouts with wholesome memories.

Thank Robert Gates, the Republican establishment member George W. Bush appointed Secretary of Defense, for the transformation of the Boy Scouts of America by allowing gay scout leaders. Rex Tillerson, Donald Trump’s first Secretary of State, was the member of governing board instrumental in changing the rules to allow gay boys into scouting.
Conservatives talk about the role of the left in changing American culture and mores. Yet it is often conservative leaders who enable and execution the fundamental change.
