My Mom used to refer to “ colored people” and it was a respectful term, certainly much better than other descriptions of the era. The N.A.A.C.P. still incorporates the term. I was having a conversation with a liberal associate, she was saying “people of color”. When my reply came out using the inverse term “colored people”, her head almost exploded :).

Isn’t it silly, if annoying? These frequent and unnecessary semantic changes are nothing more than part of the effort to keep white people on defense regarding silly details, so that we’ll be too busy with PC to notice that we’re being robbed blind to pay for “reparations” by the back door (“entitlements”, quotas, all the other things which really affect our livelihoods and freedom).
