I honestly believe there is a childhood gene that simply never goes away in the mind of many liberals in western culture. It is a gene that tells you mommy and daddy are going to save you, no matter what.
I honestly believe that a lefist could fall off a 200 story building and not be able to come to grips that nobody is going to save him before he hits the ground.
My point: Sometimes the only way to improve your situation is to do it yourself (e.g. your suggestion to move), and thinking it is going to somehow be fixed any other way is delusional. Adults understand this.

I agree with your premise. Progressives are childlike and prefer to be servants to the state to independence. They want the state to solve their problems, or perceived problems. They want the state to remove what they perceive as unpleasant. They fear the accountability that comes with individual freedom and gladly surrender freedom for the perceived “security” of the omnipotent state.
Liberals are not students of history. They cannot comprehend that the compassionate and loving government they crave will eventually become a tyranny. Eventually debts a socialist government runs up must be paid. When the producers are no longer able to support the state, the government will turn on the beneficiaries. At that point, instead of the warm embrace of the nurturing nanny state, they will feel the whip of the tyrant and experience the poverty of a hand to mouth existence. The days of sitting in Starbucks or the local brew pub, enjoying conversing about big issues with like minded friends, will be over. They will be ill prepared for the Darwinian existence required to survive totalitarian rule.
Professor (and I use this term loosely), you are an arrogant, conceited, narcissistic a$$hole! There is no place that says you have a right to NOT be offended. There is room in this world for more than those that worship the ground you walk upon. I am also sure that you are not the sole supporter of the establishment you were in.
My advice to you would be to find your safe space - crawl into it and tightly close it. there, you can quietly starve to death; comfortable in the fact you will not be offended by “little” Americans.

A good example of this was in a movie I saw called “The Pianist”. A bunch of Jewish people, early on in the conflict, are being housed in a room in the city and in the middle of the night a German officer tells them to get out of bed and line up on the street with their luggage, and no talking. As they do, a very young married couple are getting situated in line and the wife asks the officer, “how long will this take?” He pulls out his Ruger and shoots her in the forehead and continues giving instructions to the rest like he’d just swatted a mosquito on his arm.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. He will not be missed, even a little bit.
That said, if he feels so bad about his racial makeup, I remind this fellow that suicide is an option.
