The Irish mostly hate the English, of course. There was actually some sympathy for Germany during WWII. Does that have anything to do with it?

No doubt there was an undercurrent, but it stayed under wraps with the godless left not being mainstream. My late father never experienced antisemitism there in the 70s and 80s. The left is antisemitic by dogma:

The EU’s influence over Ireland is Marxism in effect, albeit soft Marxism at first; the soft, gradual approach is actually the closest to the way Marx and Engels wanted things (since their writings advised a takeover of the bourgeois property “by degrees”), but the end is the same.
