Canadian Chrysler and GM plants shut down within a week. It is model turnover time, anyway.

That’s okay. Every country needs to do what is in their best interest. So bring it.
Of course, if a small economy decides to play hardball with their larger trade partners, they might want to consider whether they have the resiliency to take the shot.

Canada, Mexico, and Europe want the threat of tariffs OFF the table, before they want to negotiate.
Which really means that they just want to slow roll the whole thing until Trump is gone.
OOPS...
Trump doesnt play the game the way they want.

The problem is that many companies in Canada are in cahoots with the Chinese and others - they import products (like steel), rebrand it as Made in Canada, then ship it off to the US.
We’re not stupid, and neither is Trump.

So, if we do it, it’s a tariff. But if Canada does it, it’s a trade barrier. Journalism wouldn’t be journalism if they weren’t trying to manipulate you somehow.

Canada, please jack up lumber prices to the point it’s politically agreeable to put spotted owl on the menu and renew the Pac.NW timber industry.
To: bert
actually, i think this is part of the pressure Trump is putting on Mexico and Canada to renegotiate (or terminate) NAFTA, namely to spark a mini-trade-war, that is, I think Trump WANTS these fools to retaliate. BTW, guess who loses the most in a mini-trade-war:
A. USA
B. Canada and Mexico
