He should have had his husband remind him to bring his card with him!

I remember Iowa being a lot more flat

That's just at night when the earth is titled over all the way on its axel.

The League Of United Latin American Citizens should pick a Latin American country to go to since they are not interested in being US citizens.

He may indeed have a student I.D. but is he from Iowa, out of state or from another country ?
If he’s not registered to vote at Ames, he shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Taylor is not a fulltime resident of the state.

He is a world class ice skater, from Wisconsin

Heck, you can even hire him for skating lessons. Just call (608) 213-3674 for lessons at Ames, Iowa skating rink.

He is a USFS Gold Medalist and you could learn a lot.

However, one wonders why he doesn’t have a local number like just about everyone else he works with? http://amesfsc.org/coaches/

Does he have to show I.D. for his pit of state status at college and for student loans?

Why would he be against showing I.D. to vote in Iowa, unless he is going to or has voted more than once in more than one jurisdiction?

Further, little activist that he is, why is he complaint about students not being able to afford almost $8,000 A year to attend his prestigious skewel?

Doesn’t seem like “alot” for parents to work an extra job, as well, Johnny Student.

I know I worked when I was in college.

No doubt, but if he registered to vote, then he can vote with his student ID. Students can register to vote where they attend school, that’s been true for many years. As for foreign students, they can’t be asked to produce proof of citizenship, they just have to certify that they are eligible. I doubt that this guy would bring a suit unless he was a. a citizen and b. registered to vote. Those points will must be proved in court.

Wanna know why cops play 20 questions with you?

Because you says things that do not have parity to reality and didn’t need to be said or fail Occams Razor of Easiest way to get from A to B.

For instance:
From the State of Iowa regarding voting.

What is a valid form of ID to show at the polls?
Iowa Driver’s License “Does Taylor Blair possess a Drivers License issued by the state of Iowa? Why or why not?

Iowa Non-Operator’s ID “Got No idea what that is but, if it is merely a state I.D., why doesn’t he have that?

U.S. Passport “Uh, yeah dude. You are a world class skater and don’t have a passport, showing you live, as a resident of Iowa?”

Military ID. “Don’t think he served but, let’s ask”

Veteran’s I.D. “See above”
Voter ID Card “Really? If you have any of the above, why would you need this?”

Lawsuit will be dismissed with prejudice and he will be investigated for voter fraud...

I suspect he is still a resident of Wisconsin and therefore has no standing...

There is nothing wrong with asking for ID to vote. It only affects negatively those who want to vote illegally.

I am asked for ID when going to see my doctor, buying a bottle of beer, etc. But one cannot be asked for ID when voting?

I have always supported the necessary requirements for the voting franchise at the time of our nation’s Founding: Proof of success. There were miminum wealth requirements to vote—land, net worth, gold, etc.

He can register to vote in Iowa and probably did. The notion that “he is still a resident of Wisconsin” is old sixties era thought. Students demanded their right to register in college towns decades ago.

You are correct....a student ID typically means nothing other than helping the paperwork shufflers of the university accomplish paperwork more easily. Bars might accept it for drinking purposes, but beyond that....it’s worthless.

I thought Iowa was still using the antiquated caucas form of voting, where people stand in different corners of a room to indicate who they favor and then heads are counted to determine the winner.

Easy for voter fraud, if no photo ID to prove the individuals live in the precinct. Bused in caucas folks can participate in many different places. Stupid college kids can also do so, and still vote in their home States.
