The state of New Jersey has become the latest to ban bump-stocks for firearms, and despite strict threats to owners who refuse to turn their newly illegal devices over to police, not a single resident has complied with the new law.

That's probably because among the predominantly submissive residents of New Jersey, not a single one of them owns either an AR-15 or a bump stock.

(ducks)...

That’s simply not true.

You have to keep in mind that people living in a police state generally don’t go around blabbing about all of the verboten things that they have or do - not if they want to stay out prison.

Fact is that the NJ AG in the early 1990s was compelled to write a letter interpreting the 1990 Assault Weapon Ban - and do so very narrowly, such that if the rifle that you had or wanted wasn’t SPECIFICALLY on the list, then it was OK to own. You see, they had written the law very vaguely, and were unable to change it...so they were stuck with not being able to enforce it. That’s when I got an AR lower, after that letter came out.
