I reject NAFTA too... what do you support about it?
Ronaldus Magnus supported it. I don’t give a good sh!t either way, personally. But NAFTA was part of Ronaldus’ free trade policy, which was very conservative at the time. As it happens, between Bush 41 and Slick Willy, it ended up being a bad deal, but its underlying principles were conservative at the time. I applaud Donaldus Magnus for coming out against it and trying to re-negotiate it, as I do his brinksmanship with China. But these are not conservative policies, per se. They are moves away from unrestricted free trade. Perhaps for the better. But there is still a lot of protectionism in that approach. This is not so much “conservatism” as a balancing of interests in favor of American workers and businesses. That might be the thing to do with these deals, but it’s not conservatism.
Building a wall keeps out cheap labor, which is good for business. But overall, that’s conservatism taken to the point of a death wish. I decided to vote for him based on his promise to build a wall.
Bottom line, Donaldus Magnus is a pragmatist with conservative leanings, not a conservative purist.
