Grow up. You dilettantes should stick to watching Oprah and stop pretending you’re interested in news. Because this tripe isn’t news. FR has a venue for tripe. It’s called “chat.” Got it?

There was a time when Freepers posted to proper forums. An anecdote about some grifter whore is not news, but then again, you're doubtless the type that thinks Dr Ruth is a bonafide psychologist.

Sheesh. This place has gone downhill lately.

I thought it was an interesting read but clearly posted in the wrong forum. It gave an insight to life in the "elite" crowd that most of us know little about.

If it were about a businessperson who swindled a bunch of rich people out of a bit of money with ponzi schemes and false investments would it be worthy to post here?

Reading it reminds me of Mr. Abagnale, and the movie “Catch Me If You Can”...

Catch Me If You Can is a 2002 American biographical crime film directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson. The film is based on the life of Frank Abagnale, who, before his 19th birthday, successfully performed cons worth millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor and a Louisiana parish prosecutor. His primary crime was check fraud; he became so experienced that the FBI eventually turned to him for help in catching other checking forgers. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, with Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, and Nathalie Baye in supporting roles.

[Reading it reminds me of Mr. Abagnale, and the movie “Catch Me If You Can”...]

That’s the reason I posted it - it wasn’t the usual depressing run-of-the-mill crime committed by a borderline moron where the only surprise is that he wasn’t arrested fleeing the scene of the crime that he so unmemorably screwed up beyond all recognition like all the other semi-retards before him. She is seriously bright. With the right educational background, she could be a rainmaker at some investment boutique. Heck, she’d put most of the credentialed snobs, with pedigrees the length of your arm, in the shade.

Yes! A cross between Holly Golightly and Frank Abagnale.

Someone is planning on the movie rights....

When I read this I knew someone would want to make a movie about it.

Who could play the 'wannabe socialite' in the movie of her life

My vote goes to Mischa Barton. My wife loved her work in The OC, which fizzled after she left the production. And she has that vulnerable look the others are lacking.

Thanks for posting that article. It was something I probably would have never stumbled across or read. I found it interesting.

The problem with making a movie about it is hollyweird will probably muck it up. The girl was average in appearance at best but I'm sure some cute thing will be cast and they will probably throw in some sex scenes and violence to cater to the low brow crowd.

I think the average looks of Anna Sorokin worked in her favor as a grifter.

That’s easy... she looks like an overweight Gwyneth Paltrow to me. First person I thought of when I saw this picture.
