North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his commitment to "complete" denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and to a planned meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said on Sunday.
In Washington, Trump signalled that preparations for the summit with Kim were going ahead.
Moon and Kim agreed at a surprise meeting on Saturday that a possible North Korea-U.S. summit must be held successfully, Moon told a news conference in Seoul.
"Chairman Kim and I have agreed that the June 12 summit should be held successfully, and that our quest for the Korean peninsula's denuclearisation and a perpetual peace regime should not be halted," Moon said.
The meeting was the latest dramatic turn in a week of diplomatic ups and downs surrounding the prospects for an unprecedented summit between the United States and North Korea, and the strongest sign yet that the two Korean leaders are trying to keep the on-again off-again meeting on track.
A statement from North Korea's state news agency KCNA said Kim expressed "his fixed will" on the possibility of meeting Trump as previously planned.
Moon, who returned to Seoul on Thursday morning after meeting Trump in Washington in a bid to keep the high-stakes U.S.-North Korea summit on track, said he delivered a message of Trump's "firm will" to end the hostile relationship with North Korea and pursue bilateral economic cooperation.
While maintaining that Kim is commited to denuclearisation, Moon acknowledged Pyongyang and Washington may have differing expectations of what that means, and he urged both sides to hold working-level talks to resolve their differences.

of it from a third party.
Trump promised he would disrupt the status quo. I don’t expect this deal to be done in a day, a week, or a month. However, the historical significance of this as well as the security considerations for our nation and potentially the world (imagine the Norks selling nukes to Iran) make this one of the most important issues facing our nation.
Trump has a doctrine that we can all appreciate. Negotiate from a position of strength using all available means to accomplish the objective.
The impatience for results and the denigrating of the administration for lack of instant success by the MSM and his opponents cannot undermine the significance of what we are witnessing. We cannot control what the Norks do and they have been irrational in the past, belligerent, and deceitful. They are who they are. It should not (I know you were not) detract from the applause for Trump to even get it to this point. We have gone from Guam and Hawaii practicing for nuclear attack to the possibility of peace. Pretty amazing.

The deal was done in the Forbidden City in Beijing, China during the Winter Olympics.
The North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-Un, Chinese Dictator Xi and President Trump. They met up after VP Pence met with Kim Jong-Un’s sister during the Olympics in South Korea. That was to send the signal.
Remember when VP Pence was videoed and photoed standing next to the North Korean Dictator’s sister? I even recall the Fake Stream News saying how powerful and confident she looked next to VP Pence. What a joke right???
In reality that was a signal for the North Korean Dictator to meet with POTUS and Xi in the Forbidden City. That’s the word on the web at least.
